Saturday, Jan. 20, 12-5. A Day of Mending.  This is based on Yoko Ono’s 2015 “Mend Piece”. It’s no coincidence this event is on the 1st anniversary of President Trump’s inaguration. Participants are encouraged to bring your own materials — “the sewing/craft projects that have been sitting in the corners of your rooms, the materials you have collected and never put to use,” and we will participate in a space of collective and personal mending. The format is drawn from the traditionally feminine practice of the sewing circle, and, in what’s been an especially rough, yet empowering year for women, it seems like a powerful format to heal some damage.
