COMING UP THIS October 29 – November 1…
Thursday, Oct. 31, 3-5, Downtown Bellingham Halloween Trick or Treat. SO many fun costumes from BIG (adult) to small (children) Trick-or-Treaters. BOO!
Friday, Nov 1, Art Walk, HAT LOVE. Again this year we will have several milliners (local and from Seattle area) and we’ll have at least 100 fabulous hand-made hats. This is such a wonderful treat for us and a HUGE success last year! WHEN do you get a chance like this to see so many beautiful chapeaus???
ALSO Friday Nov, 1 Art Walk, Candace Buethorn’s paintings/collages. She uses textiles with her paintings to create beautiful nature images. They’re really exceptional!
Sunday, Nov 3, 12-4. Felted Hat Workshop, Part 1 (felting and blocking) $70.
We’ll approach felting on a ball (3-dimensionally). We have the wool and all equipment. You just show up with something to protect your clothing and a smile.
There are two (possibly more) ways to approach hand felting a hat. One is to do it flat felting (we’ll have THAT class on November 24). In THIS class we’ll felt on a rubber ball so that when you remove the felted wool, it’s already shaped somewhat and ready for fulling (makes it thicker and more durable). Personally, I like the ball method. It seems to go much faster than flat felting.
Part 2 is on Saturday, Nov 9, 1-4. Your felted hat (from Part 1) should be completely dry by this date. the workshop. We’ll take our dry, blocked hats and finish the with a hat band and any decorating you’d like to do.
Call us at 360-733-1323 to enroll.
One thing you do NOT want to miss is…..
Friday, Nov 8, 5:30-9:30. Wine Walk! Two ticket prices, $30 or $50. This is a TON of fun! You get a ticket, a swag bag, and a list of participating venues. Then you walk from venue to venue and shop/sip at the venue. Grab a bunch of friends and CLICK HERE to get your ticket. Several businesses will be participating. It’s a BLAST! What a GREAT way to spend a Friday night AND try some new wines!
