There are SOME events that are TOO good NOT to do every year!  These are just a FEW of the events we’ve found to be worth doing every year:

Lydia Place’s Handbags for Housing Event (June 2017)

For the last 4 years, Lydia Place has done a fund raiser that involves a fashion show, handbags for sale, fabulous refreshments (cocktails and other great snacks), AND a lot of FUN!  2017 Was their 5th year to thow this fabulous shindig and we were excited to participate in it.  Check out some of the fun photos of our participation.

Did I mention – we won Judges Choice for Avant Garde Fashion Show entry?  Yessir we did, uh huh.  We are SO proud of the models AND the staff at Social Fabric who painstakingly cut out thousands of tissue paper butterflies and then of course, Molly, who made those amazing butterfly crowns.  SHE ROCKS!

Here’s the purse that Molly made out of a painting by Amy Armitage (local amazing artist!)  The butterfly image in the painting was the reason we decided to go with the butterfly theme.

Amy donated her painting, Molly made the purse, and then we both donated the purse to the Lydia House’s Handbags for Housing Auction.  We are JUST thrilled that Paulette won the purse and went home with this one-of-a-kind, fabulous bag!  That LADY has GREAT TASTE!

The mission of Lydia Place is to support sustained independence of families in need, by providing housing, supportive services, advocacy, education, and by raising awareness of the faces and causes of homelessness. They do such important work and we support them 100%!

Social Fabric’s Annual Sidewalk/Clean Out Your Closet Sale (mid to late July)

If we had a nickel for every time someone has told us they really needed to ‘clean out their closet’ before they could buy more clothes – well, we’d be millionaires!  So we decided to give you all the opportunity to do just that. CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSET!  Collect the items (clothes, shoes, hats, handbags, accessories & jewelry) and bring them in to Social Fabric and we’ll throw a HUGE “garage-type” sale. 

Starting mid-July, in the week leading up to the sale, we’ll invite you to bring in a limited number of items (garments, shoes, accessories and/or jewelry) and you will get a 25% discount* on anything in the Social Fabric boutique (except consigned items).  Sorry, we do not accept any household items.

The sale is scheduled to coincide with the annual Downtown Sidewalk Sale and Commercial Street Night Market (usually held the third Friday of the month) and continue through the next day (Saturday).  Dates and times TBA for 2018.

But, here’s the BEST PART, the proceeds from the sale are split this way:  50% goes to a worthy cause, 25% goes BACK to you, and 25% goes to Social Fabric!  In 2017, the causes we chose were Lydia House and Agape.  BOTH are well worth our support.

You don’t have to be present to participate in the sale and you don’t have to clean out your closet to shop it!  So plan on joining us in this crazy, FUN Sidewalk/Clean Out Your Closet sale in 2018!
