April 5 thru 8, noon - 2, Teen Sewing Camp!
If you're at loosed ends over the Spring Break holiday, well this is one way to fill those hours with creativity and fun. Be careful, you might get bit by the sewing bug and then you're addicted to sewing all your life! We'll make a fun pillow for your bedroom. $75 for 4 days (2 hours a day). No previous sewing experience necessary.
April 8, (Friday) noon to 3,Prayer and Peace Flags
OK, so this is Love on a larger scale. Bring some loving energy to spread and we'll supply the materials, the space and the instruction. You make the prayer flags to send all that Love out into the Universe. $15 No sewing skills are necessary.
April 15, 22, and 29 (Thursdays), OH BABY!
New Moms...yes you new moms who want to sew for your kids - this is the class for you. We'll make a "quiet book" (8 pages plus a front & back cover). While making it, we'll teach you the basics of sewing. You learn how to sew, Junior or Sis get a hand-made (by you) Quiet Book, WIN/WIN! Bring your sewing machine or if you don't have a sewing machine - no worries, we have several for you to use. This class will open the door to years of sewing for your kids. IF we have time - we'll move on to some other kid-oriented projects. $85 No sewing skills necessary.
April 20, (Wednesday), 5:30 to 8 SEWcial Come play with us (see above listing for details). All levels OK.
April 6 and 20, (1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month) 5-ish to 8, SEWcial. Come and sew with us - OK maybe we'll sew, maybe we'll just chat - it depends on what you WANT to do. There will be snacks so you don't go hungry. Bring a project that you've hit a snag on and we'll take a look and give you our 2 cents worth on how to move forward. OR bring something you'd like to "crow" over! Everyone needs to show off what they're making. ALL skill levels welcome. FREE!

OK, this class is so popular we've decided to have it twice a month! We had NO idea how many people wanted to know how to take care of their sewing machine. Bring in that machine, two terrycloth towels, a soft rag, your manual, and all sewing machine accoutrements. Both you AND your machine will be very happy. Think of the savings you'll have - not taking it to the sewing machine repair store!!!! $45 All levels OK

Can you Believe that Spring is HERE! LOTS of things to do to get ready for warmer weather, gardening, Spring cleaning, being outdoors. We have all kinds of classes, from Japanese Paper Making (you HAVE to do this!) to Shibori - to Teen Sewing Camp and more!
April 9 (Saturday) 11 to 5, Japanese Paper Making
This class is also in conjuction with the Ferndale Cherry Blossom Celebration. Textiles are a long-standing and celebrated art form in Japan. Paper making is only one of the aspects of that tradition. We will be using Misumata, Gampi and Kozo paper pulp to make the most ephemeral and beautiful papers you can imagine.
NEVER FEAR, we've done the HARD work for you in that we've soaked and beaten the raw plant material so that we have the paper pulp ready to go. This class definitely has to have no more than 10 people as there is equipment we need to prepare for each student, and the space and drying time all have to be planned for. You will be amazed at the beautiful paper you can make! $50. Skill Level - all Levels OK - no experience necessary. All materials & equipment supplied. No skills required, all are welcome.

March 18 (Friday) 2-4, Make Friends with your Sewing Machine
If you and your sewing machine are no longer on speaking terms - we'll help you with an intervention, aka our class "Make Friends with your Sewing Machine. Dig it out of the basement, attic or closet, dust it off and bring it down. We re-introduce the two of you and before you know it - you'll be friends again! Seriously, this class is for folks who feel like they've forotten everything they ever knew about using their machine. FREE! All levels are welcome.
April 24, (Sunday), noon - 5, Franken Shirt
If you think Franken-Sweaters were fun - you gotta come and bring some men's shirts and we'll mix 'em up with lace, vintage fabrics, handkerchiefs, whatever you can think of. We'll make some snazzy Spring tops (or whatever). For $45, you will a) have fun, b) learn something new, c) get a cool, up-cycled shirt! What's not great about that? Basic sewing skills necessary.
April 7, Thursday, after 5 to 8, HAPPY HOUR SEWING
Yes, you read that right. Guys - (and Gals too) - we know you want to come hang out with us and get some tips on HOW to fix those pockets with holes, fix a hem, put on a button, etc., THIS event is designed to teach you how to do that with the minimum amount of sewing (maybe even none!) Moms, sisters, girlfriends - sign him up so he can do this himself! $20 An adult refreshment is available. No sewing skills are necessary.

Sewing with Vinyl
You've seen those amazing bags Molly makes out of advertising banners. Well she's willing to share her secrets as to how she sews with vinyl to make them! Of course you can just buy a bag or two, OR you can take this class and make your own. We're good with both options. $25
Basic sewing skills necessary.
April 2 (Saturday) noon - 5, Shibori
We are running this class in conjuction with the Ferndale Cherry Blossom Celebration. In this class, we'll explore the Japanese tradition of resist dying called Shibori. It is (less respectfully) called tie dying in the USA. We hear the words "tye dying" and think "t-shirt decoration". Shibori goes WAAAYYYY beyond that. It is an art form. As you can imagine, the Japanese have been doing this for thousands of years and so they've developed some pretty amazing Shibori techniques. We'll explore some of these tying techniques and do some dying with a variety of "ties". We'll supply the materials and dyes. We'll also have medium size plastic gloves for you. if you need larger or smaller ones - you might want to bring them. Also, wear clothes you're not afraid to get ruined (with dye). All Levels OK - no experience needed. $50
April 23 (Saturday), noon - 5, Cross Body Bag Design
If you are tired of that groove dug into your shoulder from carrying your purse, you need to take this class. It's much better for your back if you use a cross body bag to distribute the weight of the bag over your body, instead of your sweet shoulder! Designing a bag is a complicated, step-by-step process to get all those pockets and zippers sewn in the correct sequence. Molly will share her amazing bag-design skills. $30 Basic sewing skills necessary.
